How can the construction industry benefit from the Metaverse?

The Industrial Metaverse is a hybrid real-virtual world that will enable people to collaborate with each other. It offers a wide range of opportunities for the construction industry across the building lifecycle.

While traditional methods of building, design and development can be time-consuming and costly, the use of Metaverse technologies and Building Information Modeling (BIM) can enable faster and more effective designs. The construction industry can test and adjust designs and plans before they are implemented in the real world and match the built condition to the design.
This presentation will also highlight the possibilities of the Metaverse for the construction industry based on experiences from current applied research projects and demonstrate how it can be used to advance the digitalization of the construction industry.

End-to-end Data Science project management – from idea to operation

In recent years, data science and artificial intelligence have evolved from hype-topics to established, technological toolboxes.

Such projects, however, usually do not take place on the green field, and thus require more than an isolated technical development. Consistent, content-related project management can help to appropriately estimate costs, effort and dependencies and thus minimize risks. In particular, the embedding in the corporate project context as well as the early and late project phases play an important role which is often neglected. In this Cube Class, the contents of data-based projects will be presented in a structured and continuous manner. Essential dependencies and central challenges for the management of data-based projects are addressed and illustrated in the context of existing tools for supporting such a project management.

Auto(Q)ML: Development of low-threshold (quantum) machine learning methods for industrial applications

Applying (quantum) machine learning techniques to industrial use cases conventionally already represents a relevant- and on the quantum-side defines a highly promising approach towards beating classical computing schemes for a large set of use cases.

However, finding experts in both, quantum computing as well as machine learning is notoriously difficult nowadays. As a direct consequence, this hinders the application of state-of-the-art (quantum) machine learning algorithms for industrial use cases, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Within the joint research project AutoQML we are therefore developing a cloud-based solution enabling the automatic use of (Q)ML-algorithms without a fundamental understanding of neither quantum nor conventional machine learning techniques. This talk will introduce our approach, which enabables customers to take advantage of suitable (quantum) machine learning algorithms without optimizing the associated hyperparameters manually.

In this talk, we present our Cybersecurity Training Lab, which consists of cybersecurity researchers of all industries that are able to analyze your company's lack of security skills and customize existing trainings to your unique needs. As a running example, we present our Security Champion Training that we successfully tailored to various industries.
