About Fraunhofer ICT Group

As a central hub between science, industry and society, the Fraunhofer ICT Group drives innovation. Its 21 member institutes boost Germany's and Europe's competitiveness and technological sovereignty.

The group is the largest IT research institution in Europe and supports both industry and the public sector in developing digital solutions for societal challenges. In strategic roadmaps that cover a broad spectrum of future technologies, application domains and cross-sectional topics, the group bundles the expertise of its institutes. More than 5,000 researchers are working on core technologies such as artificial intelligence, IT security, and cloud platforms as well as next-generation and quantum computing.

The institutes develop software and algorithms, implement technologies and processes and carry out feasibility studies. The research and development portfolio also includes prototypes, tests and certifications as well as professional qualification in key IT disciplines.
